Murmuration Community Therapy
Murmuration Community Therapy is a not-for-profit and we are based in Bristol, UK
We gather parent carers into small supportive communities called nurture groups. We have an initial 1:1 session with each person, and then facilitate eight group sessions. Once the course has finished, we have an array of activities and gatherings that our participants can attend in order to stay connected and continue nurturing wellbeing. Many groups continue to stay in touch and support each other.
We welcome parents of children who are disabled or neurodivergent whether they have a diagnosis or not.
What happens at a parent carer nurture group?
• Meet the same parents each week
- normally there are 6-8 parents per group
• Share experiences
• Explore a different theme each session
• Learn how to relate to difficult emotions with self-compassion, so that they don't overpower us
• Nurture activities such as guided relaxations
